Venous access devices (VADs) are medical tools used to administer medications, fluids, and blood products directly into the bloodstream, bypassing repeated needle sticks. They facilitate long-term intravenous therapies. These devices include central venous catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs), and implantable ports. They improve patient comfort, reduce vein damage, and minimize infection risks associated with frequent injections, increasing efficient and safe delivery of treatment.
