The structure and function of key respiratory organs, including the lungs, bronchi, and alveoli are critical for breathing mechanics to support the body’s oxygenation needs and sound.  In this video, tune into a comprehensive overview of the respiratory system effectively, enabling nurses to understand its intricate workings and importance in overall health.

Educational Objectives

After completing this NCPD/CE activity, the participant should be better able to:

• Describe the anatomical structures involved in the respiratory system, including the lungs, bronchial tree, and alveoli, and their functions in the process of respiration.
• Discuss the mechanics of breathing, including the roles of the diaphragm and intercostal muscles, and the neural control mechanisms that regulate breathing patterns.
