Educational Objectives
After completing this NCPD/CE activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Describe the anatomical structures involved in the respiratory system, including the lungs, bronchial tree, and alveoli, and their functions in the process of respiration.
- Discuss the mechanics of breathing, including the roles of the diaphragm and intercostal muscles, and the neural control mechanisms that regulate breathing patterns.
